This list of January holidays and themes for pet owner engagement will make it easier than ever to create interesting and eye-catching content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Monthly Themes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>January has a couple of great themes that lend themselves well to content throughout the month. With both Walk Your Pet Month and National Train Your Dog Month happening simultaneously, you can create a lot of different kinds of content that inspire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondindigopets.com\/blog\/2024-demographics-and-how-they-should-inform-your-veterinary-social-media-strategy\/\">pet owners<\/a> to engage with your pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Walk Your Pet Month<\/strong>: Consider making a weekly contest to encourage pet owners to walk their pets. Ask them to share photos of one of their weekly treks and have your followers vote on your favorite photo. Offer a free service (like a nail trim) to pet owners who can prove they\u2019ve gone on at least 5 walks in the month.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>National Train Your Dog Month: <\/strong>If you offer training services at your practice, this is a great time to highlight them. Consider making a series of videos with your dog trainer teaching some basic commands. If you don\u2019t have training services, you can still create a few educational blogs or infographics to give pet owners some useful tips.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondindigopets.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/iStock-1301901166.jpg\" alt=\"Walking a dog in the snow.\" class=\"wp-image-3848\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">January Pet Holidays<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of us might have a bit of a holiday hangover as we move into January, but there are plenty of fun pet holidays that can inspire users to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondindigopets.com\/blog\/a-dash-of-social-media-for-your-business\/\">engage with your social content<\/a>. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>January 1 New Year&#8217;s Day<\/strong>: This one might seem obvious, but it provides plenty of good content creation opportunities. Share some pet safety tips for the new year, create a photo background in your practice to take pictures of all your New Year pets, or ask followers to share some of their pet resolutions for 2025.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>January 2 National Pet Travel Safety Day<\/strong>: Do your part to keep pet owners and their furry friends happy and healthy by sharing some safety information for traveling. Including some cute pictures of pets traveling will help increase the engagement even more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>January 2 Happy Mew Year for Cats Day<\/strong>: Give your pet owners another excuse to fawn over their cats by creating a post about Happy Mew Year for Cats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>January 5 National Bird Day<\/strong>: Let\u2019s take a minute to highlight our feathered friends this January 5 with a post dedicated to National Bird Day. Even if you don\u2019t see birds, showcasing other animals will help increase your content\u2019s reach.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>January 6 National Cuddle Up Day &amp; January 21 National Hugging Day <\/strong>: National Cuddle Up Day and National Hugging Day offer premium opportunities to ask pet owners to share photos cuddling with their pets. You can even share some photos of your team cuddling with some of the pets who visit your hospital.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>January 14 National Dress Up Your Pet Day<\/strong>: October isn\u2019t the only month that gets to have pets in costumes! National Dress Up Your Pet Day is a great social post for your late January content calendar.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>January 22 National Answer Your Cat&#8217;s Question Day<\/strong>: What questions would cats ask if they could talk? Get creative and come up with some conversation-starting cat questions to share on your social media platforms.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>January 24 Change A Pet&#8217;s Life Day<\/strong>: There are many ways to change a pet\u2019s life, and January 24 is the perfect day to highlight some of them.
