Falling Leaves, Cozy Weather, and Engaging Ideas for Your November Social Media Content

November is coming, and now is the time to start thinking about how to fill your social media calendar. There is so much for pets and their people to love about the 11th month, which makes it a fun time to create content. These social media ideas will help you keep your audience engaged and booking appointments.

Service Reminders

Before we accelerate to the official end of the year, consider making a few memorable service reminders to share across your social media platforms. These can include graphics reminding pet owners to update preventives, vaccines, and schedule wellness exams before they get totally overwhelmed by holiday planning. It might be a good idea to create some templates for service reminders that you can easily update and post throughout the year.

Pet Adoption Series

November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month, the 1st-7th is National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week, and November 21 is National Adoption Day. Pay homage to all of these holidays with a pet adoption series for your monthly content. Not only does this give you lots of ideas for engaging content, but it can also do a lot to help pets in your area find their fur-ever homes. Consider:

  • Writing a few blogs about the benefits of adopting pets from the shelter
  • Sharing a photo series that highlights some of the pets up for adoption at your local shelter
  • Sharing success stories from some of your own pet parents about their positive experiences with pet adoption
  • Providing tips for first-time pet owners
  • Hosting a drive for adoption supplies in your practice that will go to area shelters

Thanksgiving Safety Tips

Thanksgiving is a favorite holiday across the country, but it also provides a lot of unexpected hazards to pets. Help local pet owners avoid any emergencies this holiday season by sharing some Thanksgiving safety tips with your followers. This also provides an ideal opportunity to create content that your followers might share on their own pages.

Other Notable November Pet Holidays

There are plenty of pet holidays in the month that will make great and engaging subjects for your veterinary social media content. These include:

  • Pet Cancer Awareness Month
  • National Senior Pet Month
  • National Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day (November 7)
  • Take a Hike Day (November 17)
  • General fall safety awareness for pet owners
