Adopt a Cat Month

June is for the cats. It is both Adopt a Cat Month and Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. Help some local cats in need of homes find their furever family by using your own social media as a platform to spread awareness about adoption. This can inspire many pieces of content for your monthly social media strategy. Some ideas include:

• Write a blog that offers some tips on adopting a pet
• Partner with a local shelter, and share pictures and videos of cats looking for a home
• Create a post about the must-haves for a first-time cat owner
• Share some adoption success stories from some of your cat owner clients (with permission, of course)
• Post the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions about cat ownership 

June 4th is also Hug Your Cat Day, so ask your followers to share pictures of them cuddling their favorite felines.

National Pet Preparedness Month

While it is impossible to plan for everything, there are some emergency preparedness tips that can really help a pet owner in a moment of crisis. Take advantage of National Pet Preparedness Month by sharing some safety tips on how to help pets during an emergency. Whether you write a blog, create a series of social media posts, or pen a newsletter, any tips you share will be very valuable for your pet owner clients. Share important phone numbers that can help in an emergency (like Pet Poison Control), and give tips on first aid to administer before being able to get into a vet.

Pet Appreciation Week

June starts off with Pet Appreciation Week, which runs from the 1st until the 7th. Give your followers a platform on which to show how much they appreciate their pets. Consider creating a weekly post highlighting a pet of the week. Ask your social media followers to share their favorite photos of their favorite pets. Create a giveaway or a raffle for pet owners who make an appointment and allow you to take a photo of their pets. You could even ask staff members to share photos and stories about their own pets and how much they mean.
