Spring into March with These Social Post Ideas for Your Veterinary Marketing

Spring is on the horizon, and while the temperatures might not yet reflect that, the horizon is rife with the thought of fresh blooms and new life. As you start to think about your marketing plan for the next month, here are some social post ideas to put a spring in your step (and some engagement on your social pages).
Puppies and Kittens Make Social Media Worth Having
Almost no one can resist the pull of a cute photo or video of a puppy or kitten. This year, National Puppy Day and Cuddly Kitten Day both happen to fall on March 23. Make a plan ahead of time and start asking your followers to share some of their favorite photos and videos of their puppies and kittens every week. Compile the results together and create a post that honors the young animals of your practice on March 23. This personalized touch will go a long way with your followers, and it might even garnish a lot of shares.
Giving Thanks for Pet Helpers
March has a couple of days devoted to those special people who care for our pets when we can’t do it. These include:
- March 1-7: Professional Pet Sitter’s Week
- March 4: Thank Your Pet Sitter Day
Take advantage of these holidays by creating some social media content that helps your followers give thanks to their helpful pet sitters. You might even want to make small pet sitter gift bags that pet owners can get when they visit your practice during the month. This will encourage them to make an appointment.
Poison Prevention
The month of March is also Poison Prevention Awareness Month. You can use this topic to create a variety of social content. Some of the following will make great additions to your monthly veterinary marketing plan:
- Write a blog or two about how to prevent pet poisonings in the home and what to do if an animal ingests something toxic.
- Share some educational content from other reputable sources about poison prevention.
- Create a few posts that offer quick tips on what to do if a pet has eaten something toxic.
- Remind your followers about your hours and whether or not you accept urgent cases.
Spring Wellness Tips
March is also a great time to share some content about keeping pets healthy during the spring. Create some posts reminding pet owners to ensure their pets are up-to-date with parasite prevention. Make a post about the importance of spring wellness exams. Write a blog about potential spring allergies in pets and what to do about them. Pet wellness is a year-round task, and it never hurts to remind local pet owners how you can help keep their furry friends healthy.
