Engagement-Focused Veterinary Social Post Ideas for September

One of the biggest benefits of building and using social media profiles for your veterinary business is the ability to create content to engage directly with local pet owners. September is a month filled with a wide range of pet holidays that cater to a variety of audiences. Keep reading for some ideas for your September social calendar:

National Pet Insurance Month

September is National Pet Insurance Month, which is dedicated to helping pet owners learn all about pet insurance and how it can help them with their own animals. If there is a particular pet insurance company that you partner with, this would be a great time to share some information about them. You might also want to create a blog answering frequently asked questions about pet insurance, or even give your followers the opportunity to ask you questions that you can answer with posts or even short videos.

National Preparedness Month

Another important September pet holiday is National Preparedness Month. Take advantage of this holiday to give your followers some important information about emergency safety. Share educational posts offering tips on preparing pets for emergencies. Create a pet safety kit in the office, and make a contest for followers to guess what’s in it. Once the contest is complete, make a post detailing all of the items and their purpose. You can also provide important phone local numbers someone might need in case of an emergency.

National Service Dog Month

Reserve some time in your September social calendar to pay homage to the service dogs in your lives. If there are any service dogs that you treat at your veterinary hospital, ask the owner if it’s okay if you share their story on your social media profiles. You can also provide resources on how someone could get a service dog if they need one, as well as information on how service dogs are trained.

Planning your social media calendar ahead of time means you won’t be scrambling to catch up as the month begins. Here are some additional pet holiday ideas that you can use to encourage pet owners to engage with your pages in September:
