School’s Out, Creative Social Posts Are In: Veterinary Social Media Ideas for June

Summer is fast approaching, and before you get too entrenched in vacation plans and weekend barbecues, now is the time to figure out your social media calendar for the month. These veterinary social media ideas will help you welcome the month with more engagement on your pages.
The Cat’s Meow
There are a few June cat holidays that give you an excuse to feature some fabulous feline content on your social media pages. These include:
- Hug Your Cat Day: Falling on June 4th, Hug Your Cat day gives you the perfect opportunity for your followers to share photos and videos of their favorite cat hugs. Since cats are not always known for their desire to cuddle, you could end up with some funny content of unamused cats to brighten your June social calendar.
- Take Your Cat to Work Day: June 22nd is Take Your Cat to Work Today. This provides the opportunity to ask for more photos of any clients who might attempt to bring their kitties to the office. It’s also a chance to ask clients who work from home to share some photos and stories of their furry coworkers and how they enhance a work day (or make them more difficult, depending on the cat). You can also use this as a catalyst to share pictures and information about the cats of your practice and ask your team if they feel comfortable sharing about their own cats.
- Cat World Domination Day: June 24th is officially Cat World Domination Day (even though cat owners know this is really a daily occurrence). Use this as an opportunity to share some funny cat content. Think about writing a blog from the “point of view” of a cat, or share some funny cat pictures and ask your clients to caption them with cat domination schemes.
Dog Days of Summer
Cats don’t get all the spotlight in June. Use some of these dog holidays for some canine-focused content for your social media pages this summer:
- International National Corgi Day: June 4th is recognized as International Corgi Day. Consider sharing some fun and educational content about this breed in time for the holiday. If you’re feeling really ambitious, you might want to consider organizing a corgi meetup in your area. Be sure to take plenty of photos and videos (with participant approval) to share on your social profiles.
- Take Your Dog to Work Day: June 26th is a day for the dogs. Take Your Dog to Work Day is a great opportunity to ask your followers for some photos of their furry coworkers that can create a lot of fun and engaging content for your social pages. Whether they’re going to a physical office or have a buddy for Zoom meetings in the home-office, this is a great way to engage your followers with a topic that interests them.
Other Notable Pet Holidays
The month of June has plenty of pet holidays that serve as the foundation for great social media content ideas. Some of these include:
- June 7-13: Pet Appreciation Week PAW
- June 8: National Best Friends Day
- June 9: World Pet Memorial Day
- June 15-21: Animal Rights Awareness Week
- June 18: Clean Your Aquarium Day
Additionally, the entire month of June is considered National Adopt a Cat Month, National Pet Preparedness Month, Microchipping Month, and Foster a Cat Month. Use these ideas to craft relevant social media content for summer.
